Nine Bottom of the Hill Shows Not Listed in Database

Hi all,

I've recently been doing some in depth research on the Donnas and this database has so far been a huge help to me. One thing I did come across in my research is that the San Francisco venue Bottom of the Hill has official concert archives going all the way back to 1991, and they claim the Donnas played nine shows which are currently not listed in the tour DB.

Bottom of the Hill does confirm the 1996-11-13, 1998-01-29, 1998-03-28, 1998-07-10, 2004-08-17, and 2007-03-02 dates, as well as the Donnas' co-headliners. Bottom of the Hill also claims the Donnas performed there on:

1995-05-12
1996-05-25
1996-11-24
1997-07-12
1997-08-22
1997-10-16
1997-12-04
1998-05-05
1998-10-26

Interestingly, Bottom of the Hill does not confirm the Donnas' appearance with Sleater Kinney on 1997-05-31, but the club's records are, by their own admission, incomplete before 1998.

You can find the links for the club records for 1991-1996, 1997, and 1998 all here. Hope this helps!

Thanks!
This is very interesting. I'll go through it and add the missing shows.
The database is far from complete, especially for the years before I started the database, around 2005-2006, so stuff like this help a lot.
I've done my best but missing dates are no surprise.

Much appreciated!

Thank you so much for getting back so quickly! Just another thing while you're updating the DB...

I've also gone through the archives of the Boston Phoenix (Internet Archive has like every issue, it's awesome) and I found evidence of two more shows not listed in the database. I'm going by this digitized scan of the Phoenix from 1998-11-06 (Look at the top of page 4). The Phoenix mentions the show at TT the Bears in Cambridge which is listed in the DB, but then mentions the Donnas and the Hi-Fives performing at the Elvis Room in Portsmouth NH on 1998-11-11 and again at the Met Cafe in Providence, RI on 1998-11-12.

I'm probably not going to do this for every single show I discover, but I'm still compiling more and more Donnas history that I can get from local indie newspaper collections and library digitizations, so you might hear from me again once I'm sure I have an authoritative update list.

and again, thank you so much for keeping this going! This DB has been such a big help to me, I really appreciate it.

That's some impressive researching. :)
When I googled the dates and venues they showed up on other sites too so I have added them to the database.

Thanks again.
