Hi

Made an major upgrade to the website tonight (2021-09-19).
The forum software is upgraded to the latest version and the tour database with it.

It was beginning to be impossible to keep the old site going and yet keep the server somewhat modern and secure.

So in the end it come down to a decision to either close the site or upgrade it.
I obviously decided to keep it.

I am quite found of the site and I do think it still fills a purpose for us Donnaholics that still are around.
It helped that I already had updated the software for a site dedicated to another great band called The Warning - https://thewarningtourdb.com/

Hopefully everything works as it should and that everything is imported properly.
If you spot anything that looks wrong or doesn't work please let me know.

Today 10 years ago I posted the link to The Donnas Tour Database on The Donnas official forum and the site was born.

I had worked on it alone for some time. Added the shows I knew about myself which wasn't that many.
Later I got a lot of help from a list of shows my friend Franck from the board had worked on. With the help from that list the original database had at least a decent amount of shows from the beginning.

But on September 1, 2006 I felt it was time to make the site public and get help from all the wonderful donnaholics that hanged on the official board.
With a lot of help from fans and plenty of research the site now has 783 shows in the database.

A few milestones:

• 2006-09-01
  Site first made public using the address - http://sk.shacknet.nu/donnastdb
• 2006-11-13 (or around that time)
  Changed address to the current one - http://www.thedonnastourdb.com
• 2009-03-22
  New layout. Added the ability to show news with information about changes in the database.
• 2011-06-06
  Changed to the current site with a small community and the ability for users to comment on each show etc.
  Also added lyrics, discographies and more to the site.

With the band not being active since 2012 it hasn't been much additions to the database of late.
The plan are still to keep the site alive though. Hopefully it can be of use to new and old fans even in the future.

I'm sad to say that one of my all-time favourite sites has closed, thedonnasmedia.com

To avoid dead links on the site I have now removed all medialinks to thedonnasmedia.com.
No less than 85 shows has been updated. Which tells a bit of the amazing effort Mark has done with the site.

The site will be missed but with all the other channels available today, YouTube etc., I think most of the clips are still around out there.

With time I hope to find them and add back some links.
Please let me know if you find any shows that I can link to. All help is appreciated.

The discography has been updated with singles and the different compilation/soundtracks albums that features The Donnas.

It's still missing pre The Donnas stuff and various side projects.
We'll see how and when those will be added.

If you see any mistakes or missed albums please let me know so we can keep the discography as complete and correct as possible.

It's the second Friday in May again.

Twenty years have now passed by since that first rehearsal with four young ladies that later would call themselves The Donnas.

Not much have happened since the last anniversary.

Hopefully will the bands twentieth year be more eventful.

The Donnas celebrates 19th years as a band today.

Back in 1993, on the second Friday in May, the band had their first rehearsal together. So the tradition is to celebrate that historical day each year on the second Friday in May.

There will be no anniversary show this year, but we all remember the great concerts they had to celebrate their 14th and 15th anniversaries.

The only other show that I've found that they played on their actual anniversary date is from 2001. Never seen this show been referred to as an official anniversary show though.

The Donnas Perform At The 5th Anniversary of the Original Penguin Boutique in Los Angeles

**Penguin is offering 100 slots/tickets for The Donnas fans with purchase of this special Tshirt. Here's the details:

The Original Penguin 5th Anniversary Bundle - For $60 (plus applicable sales tax), you will receive a limited edition Original Penguin/The Donnas Tshirt, as well as two tickets to the event. Only 50 of these bundles are available, and only 100 Tshirts are being made, so this is a highly collectible item. If you would like your Tshirt signed, please specify when ordering. Tshirts will be signed before the event, and will not be personalized.
